We hold your data with the highest regard.

None of your data is ever used in an unethical manner. Your data is your data, we understand that.

We use various software as a service packages to optimize our client needs. We make extensive use of testing and management science in our own operations. Most data is in a non Personally Identifiable Information (non-PII) format, and in some instances, like customer relationship management (CRM), we must use PII.

We only gather whatever data is necessary to conduct business with you.

We rely on third parties such as Google and Salesforce.com to manage much of this data. Some of it, like our auxiliary web analytics processing is done through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and out other web hosting facilities.

Website Usage Data

We are constantly trying to understand online behaviour.

We collect site usage data. It is not personally identifiable information on its own.

We monitor our site usage, including browser and user behavior data, as well as lead generation activities. We use cookies to identify return visitors and for testing.

We use this data to assess and improve our marketing effectiveness.

You can opt-out of cookies by activating private browsing on your browser.

Email Usage Data
Email communication is equally as important.

We collect data about email, both four our outbound email marketing campaigns (i.e. newsletters), as well as inbound email analytics (i.e. client requests).

For marketing emails, we follow the double opt-in principle for newsletters, and the single opt-out principle to unsubscribe from those lists. We execute analytics and testing on all our email programs.

For professional emails, assume that all correspondence is subject to Canadian law.

Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to Wink employees and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Open Data

Open data is for everyone.

We make use of aggregate open data, made available by other companies, service providers, individuals, governments and Non-Governmental Organizations. We, as third party users of such aggregate data, assume that is generally difficult, if not impossible, to infer PII.
Closed Data

We work within the development environments of most of our clients. Some data, like medical record processing, never leaves the ministries in which they are located.

American HIPPA

We do not work with American health records.
